Origin + Story
Epipremnum aureum is native to Mo'orea in French Polynesia. In the wild, it is a vigorous climbing vine reaching 40 feet or more with leaves exceeding two feet. The houseplant version stays small and juvenile. Give it a moss pole and years of growth, and it begins to resemble its wild ancestor.
Golden Pothos is the most common cultivar with green leaves marked by irregular splashes of golden yellow. It has earned its ubiquity through sheer resilience.
