Scientific Name
Epipremnum aureum 'N'Joy'
Family
Araceae
Native Region
Cultivar, native to French Polynesia
Growth Rate
Moderate
Origin + Story
N'Joy is a patented cultivar developed in India, discovered as a mutation on a Marble Queen pothos. It has blocks of cream-white against green with cleaner, crisper boundaries. Leaves are smaller and more compact than Golden or Neon, and growth is denser and slower.
The white sections contain no chlorophyll, so the plant produces less energy per leaf and grows at a reduced pace. A trade-off common to all heavily variegated plants.
Care guide
Light: Medium to bright indirect. Maintains variegation in good light.
Water: When top 1-2 inches dry. Slightly less drought-tolerant than Golden.
Humidity: Average. Benefits from 50-60%.
Temperature: 60-80F.
Soil: Aroid mix with good drainage.
Toxicity: Toxic to cats and dogs.
Growth Rate: Moderate. Slower than Golden or Neon.
