Origin + Story
Often labeled simply 'Burgundy' or 'Black Prince.' All refer to dark-leafed cultivars of the rubber plant.
The species hails from South and Southeast Asia, particularly the Himalayan foothills. It has been cultivated for centuries for its natural latex, the source of the rubber tree name.
Deep burgundy-black leaves with a faint red midrib. Polished, almost lacquered. The closest a houseplant gets to looking like a sculpture.
Grows well alongside warm wood tones, brass accents, neutral cream walls, and lighter-leafed plants for contrast.
