Naming note. Also sold as Scindapsus treubii 'Moonlight' or 'Sterling Silver.' Naming is inconsistent across nurseries. All refer to the same silvery-leafed cultivar of S. treubii. And a bigger flag: Scindapsus is NOT Pothos, despite the visual similarity. Pothos is Epipremnum aureum. Different genus. Different plant.
Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, primarily Indonesia and Malaysia. A climbing aroid that grows up tree trunks in dappled forest light. The silvery variant was selected in cultivation for its pale, almost pearlescent finish.
Thick, teardrop-shaped leaves in a soft silvery green, almost matte. Undersides stay a paler cream-green. Trails elegantly and climbs slowly.
Grows well with hanging planters, high shelves, cream and warm-beige backdrops, and Scindapsus collectors filling out the treubii lineup.
